white smoke from exhaust on 2002 Ford Thunderbird

when I first start up car in the morning a large amount of white smoke comes out of the exhaust, after several seconds the white smoke stops. What could this be?

This may be normal steam from the engine as it warms up, but if you are having problems with the engine coolant level dropping and no leaks, then you could have an internal coolant leak that is allowing coolant into the engine. If the coolant needs to be filled periodically, then you better get the engine checked for an internal leak.
