Question: white smoke at start up

 Rookie

I have white smoke when i start yhe van after it sits for a short time the coolent level stays on full but the oil level is about a quart low after a week of normal driving im mot sure if the two problems are related or not

    The first thing to check would be worn valve guides. When the car is sitting, the oil is leaking past the valve guides or valve guide seals and onto the tops of your pistons. When you start the car, the oil burns off immediately with white or blue-white smoke for a few seconds. The next suspect would be a head gasket leak.
