Question: whine while accelerating

while accelerating, I can hear a whining noise from the rear of the vehicle. When i let off the gas pedal, the noise stops. Thought it was the tires at first, but they are new Michelin Cross Terrains, and if it was the tires I would still hear it even when not accelerating.

    Yes, you likely have noise from your rear differential, ring and pinion. There are service messages for repair of this with Ford. I recommend a Ford dealership or Ford specialist that is good at repairing rear differentials inspect your vehicle.

    I had same issue. Took it in to dealership and they checked out whole drive train. It was wheel bearings. Repaired and no noise now at all.
