I was watching a video on changing the alternator and it said to use a 3/8" ratchet to loosen it. I don't see where that would go though. The video was for a 4.3 engine like mine, but mine is a 2002 and the video was from '97 to '2000. Wondering if they changed the tensioner.
Which tool do I need to loosen the serpentine belt tensioner on a 2002 S-10? on 2002 Chevrolet S10

Your local autozone has a serpentine belt tool loner program. Leave deposit of like $30 bucks and get all back once returned. This should get you taken care of.
