Bought used and time for oil change.

    I'm fairly certain that Mercedes in 2000 were already all using Mobile 1, the top-of-the-line full synthetic. You'll want to make sure that you are using the right oil weight. Do you have a copy of the owner's manual?

    Also, Mercedes engines take huge amounts of oil--the oil changes are expensive.

    Usually it's 8 quarts for most Mercedes passenger car engines, gas and diesel.

    Mobil 1 0W-40 European car formula Full Synthetic.
    $6.50 a quart at Wal-mart
    Not yet available in 4-5 qt jug.
