It is going to be 16.2 hours of labor, that is what the book says and that is how long that it takes, I have done some. So, it is only the price of the parts that is going to have some wiggle room. I would use a good aftermarket evaporator, like from a NAPA store, that will save you some money rather than a Mercedes unit and use R-134 instead of the original R12, that will also save you some money, an adapter kit for R-134 is very reasonable, like a few bucks.
