Question: where is the therostat located

I look where both hoses connect to the engine

    On both diesel and gasoline engines, the thermostat is located in the water inlet housing connected to the lower radiator hose. Removal and Installation: Caution: Never open, service or drain the radiator or cooling system when hot,; serious burns can occur from the steam and hot coolant. Line up the jiggle valve with ethe protusion on the housing. Position the water inlet housing with the thermostat over teh stubs on teh water pump and install the two nuts. Tighten the 2 nuts to 78 inch lbs. Fill coolant system with a good brand of ethylene glycol based coolant. Start the engine and inspect the leaks.
