where is the thermostat located????? on 2000 Isuzu Rodeo

I am looking for the thermostat and have failed to find it. I looked at the end of the upper hose and it does not look like thats where it is. If it is it looks like it runs under the intake manifold?? Engine gets hot but radaitor is cold

The thermostat housing has four bolts. The other hose is the outlet and has no bolts.

FOLLOW THE BOTTOM RADIATOR HOSE UP TO WHERE IT ATTACHES TO A METAL PIPE COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE INTAKE MANIFOLD,YES , ITS UNDER THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AT THE OTHER END OF THIS PIPE THAT THE BOTTOM HOSE IS ATTACHED TO...This is so ridiculus, but true, you have to remove the manifold and injection system...150-300 dollars at a good mechanic..

I believe the Isuzu Trooper is set up the same way. I just took out everything down to what I thought was the thermostat housing. It is a lot of work - a couple of hours of difficult reaches. And surprise, no thermostat. I can hardly believe it is further down. Definitely worth paying a mechanic if they will do it for only $150. I believe it reality this is going to cost $300.

it is under the intake , you have to take all the good stuff of, but its really not a bad job once youve done it , just make sure to put hoses back in right place its not that hard, estimate about 4 hours rember to get new gaskets
