My capri when put in drive cuts off,runs fine in neutral and reverse,i was told the tcm transmission control module may need replacing.Where would the tcm be located.

I think you should have this one professionally check out. I am pretty sure there is no trans computer on your car. There are many things that could cause the problem you are having. Without the proper computer scanner monitoring all sensors it is impossible to say what it is. I could be something as simple as a vacuum leak. The engine processor runs the electronic transmission controls for the 4EAT transmission.
Agreed with Larry. I would never suspect the control module for any of this anyway. A good diagnosis is in order.
