Question: where is the speed sensor located on the 97 model

Question

2nd time this has happened. 1st to the dealer $$$ now i'm going to try to repair. heard it was simple fix. just need to know where it is. it is the one that causes the speedo to stop working, shift funny(if at all) thanks

    The speed sensor is on the passenger side under the exhaust manifold on top of the transmission. The most likely reason for its failure is a missing or mispositioned heat shield. Many times it melts the sensor and even the terminal plug for the wiring.
