I've been reading in forums that when peoples car codes for the air injector, they replace it but in-fact it wasn't the air pump that was bad, it was the valve.... is there any way you can make sure its not the valve before you buy the injector?

thats why you have a tech do the diag for you. we use a scan tool to manipulate the pump and we inspect the valve as well. in most cases, we replace the pump with the valve.
it is expensive for the parts. it is not an easy fix. recommend letting a shop do this for you.
