I too have a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder and could not locate the PCV valve so I went to the Nissan Dealer Parts counter and asked them to print out the page in their parts book (on computer system)and it shows where the PCV valve is, however when I began looking for it using the diagram from the Dealer I still could not see it. I then took it to a local mechanic shop and they could not see it either. The advice they gave me was to wait until I was having other work done such as replacing the spark plugs and while parts were removed to facilitate replacing the spark plugs they should be able to access the PCV valve which is buried under the different components around and under the passenger side of the intake manifold. Evidently replacing the PCV valve is not a "do it yourself" service task.
