Where is the fuel filter located on my vehicle? on 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara

My vehicle is chugging. I think it's the fuel filter and hoping it's not the fuel pump. I can often smell fuel in the vehicle.

Here the procedure to replace the fuel filter: http://www.ehow.com/how_12217123_detailed-instructions-replacing-fuel-filter-2000-suzuki-vitara.html Do you have a check engine light on? Smelling fuel inside of the vehicle would not be a symptom of a bad fuel filter. Is is usually a symptom of a fuel line leak or an exhaust leak in front of the catalytic converter.
