Where is the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor located on a 2003 Chevy Cavalier? on 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier

My cooling fan doesn't turn on causing my engine to overheat when idle and I want to unplug the connector to see if it will start the fan. I just can't figure out where the ECT Sensor is exactly.

get service manual. many models with electric fans have a 'coolant temp sensor' for the PCM (engine controls) and another one for the gauge and fan controls .check to see if the fan(s) come on with the a/c turned on , if so then that should rule out faulty fan motors. wiring diagrams and circuit descriptions would be very helpful for you.also with key off/out physically check the fan(s) for damage / free movement.

My fan doesn't turn on when AC is on either....Also, when I push the button to turn the AC OFF ..the light stays on..Mine is overheating, too. Replaced the thermostat, still overheating! Thought it might be the sensor since relay is ok. Where is the sensor located? Also fuse for cigarette lighter cannot be inserted without causing sparks!Need lighter for cell phone charger; bought the car used and the previous owners did not want smoking in the car, so they must have cut the wire for lighter. My car cannot be diagnosed on a computer! It simply appears that the computer is dead! how can this be fixed?
