where is the cooling fan relay? on 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera

the electric cooling fan needs to be replace, but I don't know where it is.

The cooling fan relays are located on a bracket on the right had side of the engine compartment. Don't forget to test the relays for proper operation before replacment. If your cooling fan is not working the fault should be diagnosed before replacing any parts.

BUT WHICH RELAY? THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME PART NUMBERS.

You will need a wiring diagram. You can then match the wire colors in on the diagram with those on the relay in order to find the correct one.

Before you replace the fan relay,test the fan with a jumper wire from the battery positive post,but unhook the wiring at the fan first,the fan motor can fail and not run any at all if it is worn out.And the circuit may be good from the relay to the fan.

I recently took a trip to the mountains. The engine ran hot. When I checked the front cooling fan, (the pusher in front of the radiator) it was not running. I have removed the fan and tested it....
One of the 4 relays is causing this car to not start right. It also turns the cooling fan on makes a horrific clicking sound and when wiggled effects door bell sound along with dash lights to flash...
The heater blower was working and then it just stopped.
