under the hood.. you will see 2 retangular relay box covers.. in the very front of the car....... slightly to your right.....the relay box closest to the radiator or the front of the car is the cover you need to remove.... the relay to your far right end is called the a/c compressor clutch relay............the relay has a slot in the back to fit only one way....you can test it by pulling it... you will need 2 small jumpers wire approx 4 inches long..... and a good 9 volt battery....... touch... 1 wire to negative side battery touch...other wire to positive side of battery......now touch individual wires to the silver terminals of the relay.... if the relay is good you will hear it click ....i cant remember if you touch the 2 silver or copper terminals

touch.... the 2 silver... or... the 2 copper.... terminals of the relay.... to the negative and positive side of a 9 volt battery....it will click if relay is good... my daughter bought a 1997 acura rl....... compessor froze up.. replaced compressor.... the wiring on this vehicle is unreal... i had to remove the perfectly good compressor clutch relay... get 10 foot of 18 gauge wiring in 3 differnt colors....made up connectors on the wires..inserted the connectors into the relay base.. { relay removed} ran the 3 wires along the engine toward the drivers door down and inside around the brake pedal to a bracket i made drilled out to fit a switch i bouhy attached to the brake pedal bracket.. bent and hidden , an illuminated
