where is elect fuel pump and its check valve location on 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

problem wwith engine start.have to pump and pump for 10 sec for it to start.no problem after it starts

The fuel pressure should be 55-62psi. The fuel pump and check valve are located in the fuel tank. The check valve prevents fuel from draining back into the tank for several minutes after the truck is shut off. The fuel pump is commaded on thru the fuel pump relay when the ignition is turned on for 2 seconds to prime the system and also while cranking. I think you need to have someone hook up a fuel pressure gage and check the pressure. Afterwards the pressure should maintain for about 5 minutes
