    Mercedes put a tamper plug on a tube that would traditionally have a dipstick. Mercedes do not want anyone putting the wrong transmission fluid in their transmission or introduce the possibility of some one over filling the transmission. The dealer and independent Mercedes repair specialists have a dipstick to check and fill the transmission as required. Some Jaguar cars have the same set up.
