Check engine light has been on for month. Drove truck to store and would not start when went to leave. AAA came, hit fuel tank with hammer while Husband started and it started right up. AAA said it was the fuel pump going bad. Described details to mechanic he said sounds like fuel pump. Do you agree? Do we need pump, injector and filter? When you get new pump do they automatically replace injector and filter?
Where are the fuel pump & filter located on my truck. on 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

he probably banged on the tank, the pump is in the tank, the filter is in front of the tank.I usually do a filter when I replace the pump,no injectors are necessary.
