check engine light is on and the temperature gets very hot when running the AC. Took to autozone and was told either one or both of the cooling fan relay's were bad. Does anyone know where they are located.

Look for Fan Relay #45 in the underhood relay box. Also there's Fan Fuse #20 which powers the relay. this is really an engine cooling fan relay but I can't find a wiring diagram for another fan relay. There's an A/C compressor clutch relay which is #44 in the same relay block which is powered by 10A A/C fuse #30. Check both of those relays and fuses.
I recommend getting your car diagnosed by a Chevy specialist if you need more help.

thank you very much. autozone had me replace two relays. and the problem was just the blown fuse that powers the engine cooling fan relay. Almost paid to get it looked at.
