Standing in front of the car looking at the engine. You will see two round things on the back if the intake manifold. The larger one on the right is the EGR Valve, it is held on by 2 bolts. The smaller one on the left in a metal bracket is the EGR Modulator. The VSV is mounted on the back of the engine block below the intake manifold and is best accessed from underneath. There is no EGR Temp. sensor. If you like you can download the Camry service manual free at:

Thank you for the helpful info! I had a code 401 which indicated a malfunctioning EGR valve which I disassembled and cleaned, {brush and air hose.) Same on the EGR modulater. The VSV was too hard to access at the time so I reassembled everything and disconnected the neg. batt. cable for a few hours, reconnected, and fired up the motor and voila! The check eng. light was off! Now I have to rush to get an emission test before the dumb thing comes back on! Thanks! benu102
