when the key to my 2000 alero is put in ignition it wont turn. on 2000 Oldsmobile Alero

so how do i get it out? I know I need a new ignition but the key wont turn. It just started last night. If you have help and diagrams to help me through this I would appreciate it.

You can probably replace just the lock cylinder itself and not the entire ignition assembly....the key may not come out at all but you can try spraying some graphite lube in it and wait for a while then see if you can remove the key. or call a mobile locksmith in your area and they can fix it for you at minimum charge
