when the automatic transmission shifts into overdrive it slips on 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis

When I drive with overdrive deployed, it will slip when shifting into overdrive and then after the rpms go high enough, it will catch....is there some kind of an adjustment that can be done or do i need a new transmission....Shifting is fine with all the other gears...so i have been driving with the overdrive switched off and all is working well....

running low in fluid is the main cause for overdrive failure. there is no adjustment for this. you will need major work for this one Roy
