is blank until door is opened, is this normal?

    Does it clear up after the key is inserted and turned to run.

    yes the display comes on when drivers side door is opened

    Yes, no need for the display when there's no one to see it. When the door is opened it assumes there is an observer.

    what i thought was if you set the defrost or air to high when you shut car off, the next time it is remote started the same settings will be there but that is not the case until you open the door.

    Oh, that is odd. In oher words the heater doesn't start working until you open the door? There must be a defalt setting it uses until the door is oened, i really don't know.
