2001 Audi S4 Question: when should the timing belt be replaced?

It runs fine. It has 77000 miles

    105K is the recommended mileage. They run about $850 with a new water pump, timing belt kit including the new pulleys and some coolant and acc. belt. You've got some time to prepare. These are interference engines and will be damaged if the belt breaks or looses timing because of broken teeth.
