Question: when should the drive belts be replaced?

what services should be performed on a exploreR sport trac with 84,000 miles it has new brakes rotors and shocks 80,000 miles on tires does the drive belt need replaced and what about spark plugs 98% of driving is in town,radiATOR FLUSHED AT 82,000 MILES AND AUTO TRANS AT 50,000 MILES

    I would recommend the drive belt be replaced by the time it gets to be 5-7 years old...being rubber. Dry rots over time. Spark plugs should come out soon, if not already. If you wait too long, they will become very difficult to remove from the cylinder heads, and can break or take threads of the heads out with them.

    Transmission service is not a bad idea every 30,000 miles.

    Is your Sport Trac a 4x4? If so, transfer case fluid should be changed and front and rear differential services are in order. If it is only rear wheel drive, change your rear differential oil by 90,000 miles.

    Ford does not have a recommendation on brake fluid replacement, but it is a very good idea across all cars lines to replace your brake fluid every 3 years at the very least.
