2000 Mitsubishi Galant Question: when should I replace the rear / front shocks or struts on my 2000 mits. galant

veh. has 145,000 miles and occasionally I hear a "clunk" sound in the right rear of the vehicle? after i go over a bump or speed hump.

    When your car turned 100,000 miles. The noise could be a broken sway bar link, a missing sway bar bushing, a weak/damaged strut mount, weak/damaged strut...the list goes on. Regardless of what is causing the noise, if your car still has the original struts/shocks on it at that mileage, they need to be replaced.
