Question: When should I change the tiing belt?

When does the timing belt need to be changed? I recently bought this vehicle and have been told that if (when) the timing belt goes it will blow the engine. So I am quite concerned.

    My information doesn't show a "change" interval for that engine but does say it is an interference fit engine and does serious damage if the belt breaks. I would not let it go 90K without changing it.

    I do not want to scare you but check your car manual or on http://www.consumeraffairs.com/automotive/audi.htm
    for more information because there is a lawsuit out for certain model.
