--- when driving, the car makes a grinding sound when shifing to overdrive----similar to riding over rumble strips--why????

    Hello,
    Were you able to find out why the overdrive was making noise? Was it something inside the transmission?

    my mecury does the samething been doing it for over a year doe not get anybetter or worse but till drive it wish I could find out what it is also
