Question: When cranking 2002 Buick Lesabre, gear will not release from Park.

Must start car, press brake pedal and only then will gear release from Park. If brake pedal not pressed, gear will not release from Park.,

    This is normal as a safety item you have to have the brake pedal pressed before you can put it in gear so the car doesn't lunge forward or reverse and cause damage or hurt someone
