Question: When checking the fluids there is no Transmission Oil on the dipstick?

I have a 2003 Trailblazer I just had the transmission filter replaced due to it being clogged. I got up this morning and pulled the dipstick to check the transmission oil and there was nothing on the stick.     There is a proper procedure to check transmission fluid. Most common is Engine idle>Emergency brake applied the the vehicle has to be at operating tempreture,

    Transmission fluid expands when hot, so a chill morning with no warm up will give you a false reading
