Wheel Bearing Replacement Rear One Side on 1997 Pontiac Trans Sport

Do the wheel bearings need to be replaced if the wheel makes a squeaking noise while mainly in reverse? It does happpen in forward but not as frequently. It is not making a grinding or growling noise.

Probably the rear pads or shoes are squeaking ( transports come with one or the other ) If your having the pads changed have the mechanic install ceramic pads as they are cleaner and quieter than the other two options..
