I took my 2007 Prius (22k miles) in to the dealer for an oil change and was told that the wheels need to be aligned every twenty thousand miles. Is this true?

Unless your vehicle is steering funny or pulling to one side or the other you can wait until you purchase new tires ( they should last about 45,000 miles ) then have it aligned.

There has been a lot of chat on the internet about Prius tire wear. A lot of our customers didn't get a lot of miles out the tires that came on the Prius form Toyota.

my 2005 Prius has 102,000 miles, and has yet to be aligned. For best tire wear with the Prius, remember to consistently rotate your tires. Original tires are not so good in the tire mlieage department...I have been quite happy with Michelins...and my average mileage is 51 mpg (year round).
