Question: What's happening when the 'check engine soon' light comes on?

Had tune up February 2012. Are there recalls about this problem? Truck purchased at Nissan dealer. Is this the best place to have it repaired (cost).

    Where was the 'tune-up done , what parts were involved (dealer/aftermarket) What's the mile now and when the tune-up done?Odds are they're not related issues.

    Hi, Thanks for reply. Took truck to Nissan Dealer. Full diagnostic test done. There was an emissions problem; signal codes not reaching correct target, possibly from dropping and cracking ignition key :{
    Insurance paid $50 diagnostic fee. Key & alarm system re-coded at $75 out-of-pocket.
