2000 Ford Taurus Question: what would make my car stall driving on the highway?

BigHeaded, 3.0L V6, Kalamazoo, MI, December 11, 2012, 09:52
 Rookie

The fuel filter has been changed, gas gauge doesn't work, had very little power when driving up hill, high idle. The car will turn over but will not start.

    Several items can cause a stalling condition, fuel pump cutting out, camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor, or a failed ignition switch. Honestly the only way to determine this would be to take it to a repair shop and allow the technician to duplicate it. Avoid guess work as in this situation can be a huge waste of time and money.
