Question: what would cause temp needle to go to hot wwhile AC is on.

 Rookie

coolant in reservoir is at proper level, but after driving 30 miles with AC on, temp needle goes over to hot. when AC is turned off, temp needle returns to normal.

    Cooling fans inop. Restricted radiator. When temp. goes up are you sitting still or going down the road?
    If getting hot sitting at stop light,check cooling fan(s). If getting hot a speed check rad.

    Like i ask, when is the engine getting hot? If sitting still like at a stoplight or going down the road?
