I have no problems getting my car to crank, but once I let off the gas it dies. The engine light is on but I'm not sure what the problem is.

$265??? only if the damn thing is gold plated- I paid $55 at autozone and was pissed cuz i could've got it at oreillys for $45. any idiot can replace the IAC- it's two bolts and a little gasket. It sits right on top of the intake manifold next to the throttle plate. and yes it's likely the cause but I'd suspect there's more going on as the one on my wifes car went out but it didn't die immediately despite it's malfunction- it would take a little under a minute and often times you could keep it from doing so if you put it in park/ take the load off the engine.
