2001 Hyundai Accent Question: what type oil is best to use

I JUST BROUGHT A USED 2001 ACCENT 100K + MILES
THERE WAS NO OWNER MANUEL, NO JACK, ETC. JUST FIXIN' IT UP,
NEEDS OIL CHANGE AND BRAKES REALL QUICK....

    5W30 should be good year around. Is it using any oil? If necessary , switch to oil that was developed for high mileage cars. Check / replace the PCV valve also.
