26 mpg interstate straight drive , one rest stop tank full to tank empty

Just sold 2008 corrola with 106000 mi. Avg 35+ on every trip. so my driving style is proven

YEA, SHOULD DO BETTER THAN THAT. ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THE MPG? I MEAN HAVE YOU CHECKED IT
SEVERAL TIMES? AS FAR AS RPM, THAT SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT. IS OD. WORKING?
ASSUMING A/T. IS IT RUNNING OK? IT D.... SURE SHOULD GET BETTER THAN 26MPG!!
AT LEAST 30 TO AT MOST 35. BUT NOW THE COROLLA HAD A 1.8L ENGINE AND LESS
WEIGHT. HELL I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO TELL YOU. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU FIND.

Thanks for your reply. the car now has 15k miles try to use brand name gas ,100% gas if I can find it. If it has a OD switch I have not found it. everything seems to be working ok. I had one occurance where the anti skid warning light came. had a hard time getting off and reset. my other vechiles run about 1750 rpms at 70mph. that included the corrola and chevy pu just seems high on Camry. dealer has told me that car will really start effecting milage above 2000rpms. most of my miles are interstate trips averaging over 300 miles per. trip. so 5 or 6 more miles per gallon means alot What does your Camry rpm's at 70mph?

About 2400 RPMs. Over 290K on it, still gets over 25MPG. If I can think of any other possible suggestions I'll post.In the meantime...keep good records of oil changes and other maint. and if possible keep the services done at the dealer for the time being, it may be helpful in the future , if something is wrong with the engine or it's 'control system'(for possible warranty service if necessary).Also , just a thought , the factory service manual(or their 'online' equivalent) should have gear ratio and RPM specs.

I DON'T BELIEVE YOU CAN DO ANY BETTER, GOT 3 IN THE DRIVEWAY NOW! ONE IS AN OLD 93 COROLLA 265,000 RUNNING STRONG.(even with" mechanics" maintenance).
02 CAMRY 2.4L A/T OD GETS 32 MPG ON OPEN ROAD. NEXT TIME I GET A CHANCE I WILL CHECK RPM @ 70 MPH.
AND GET BACK TO TDOFF. EVEN THOUGH IT IS OLDER. NEWER COROLLA DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT AS FAR AS MPG BUT IT DOES A GOOD JOB.
