Question: What needs to be done to make new blower motor work properly?

Rookie

the new blower motor burned up the day mechanic installed it (smoke filled van) Replacement is doing the same as the first before it burned, air comes though vent on high speed, then drops off and comes out the heater vent by the floor.

The old motor never did this. I'm afraid to use it, and it's useless blowing on the floor anyway (a/c itself went out over 2 years ago) Can something be done.

You should look for the seller to ask, I am afraid the new blower motor have problem.

is the new blower motor seized if so take it and get new one if its not seized then will have to check to see if there obstruction causing motor not to turn

If the mechanic doing the work is a licensed business , then hopefully he/she should be able to properly diagnose the cause of the blower motor , and should be diagnosing the cause of the failure instead of just tossing the part in. Diagnosis should not be free , but it should have been done at the time of replacing the second failed motor.
