Recently replaced identical idle control valve because when i drove it it would randomly idle high. But now with the new idle control valve my car wont stay idled at all even with my foot on the accelerator. Was told this could be the fuel pump but im not sure
What may be the reasons my cars starts but wont idle, causing is to cut off? on 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII

I cleaned the t/b with t/b cleaner after replacing the idle control valve. Battery went dead after a few tries so was told it may be my alternator but turns out to have been a bad battery. Replaced the battery and now i have power.. car starts but back to square one! It'll start but cuts right back off. Ok i forgot once when i had the bad battery i tried starting it with a jump and held my foot down on the accelerator and it stayed idled until i took my foot off and "then" it cut off.. smh HELP!!!
