what is wrong with my brakes?! on 1992 Buick LeSabre

When I am braking and am almost at a complete stop the brakes grab and jerk for a second or two. Why are they doing this?

It sounds like your Anti-lock Brake system may be acctivating just before you come to a stop. This can be caused by a wheel speed sensor begining to fail. Try having the ABS syetem checked for fault codes. A stored code may lead to the cause of your problem. If there are no codes stored it may require a road test with a scan tool connect to monitor ABS date while the fault is occuring.
