1994 Chevrolet Cavalier Question: what is the difference between a drive belt and timing belt

    timing belt connects the cam to the crank. the drive belt runs ac, alt, water pump and power steering.
    by the way, the 3.1 has a chain.

    drive belt runs alt water pump, powersterring ,a/c. that car has a timing chain in it you dont have to change it unti motor will have to be rebuild or tining chain breaks but if it breaks i will bend valves. ck compression ck fireing at sparkplugs
