1998 Ford Taurus Question: What is the cost of the re-manufactured part to replace the transmission?

Visitor, New Orleans, LA, May 20, 2011, 13:50

I have been having car problems for at least 8 months. The shift gear has been off for about 6 months. When I turn the steering-wheel, it squeaks although fluid has been added.

I'm not sure what parts you are seeking to replace.
The shift gear has been off? Not working? Inaccurate?

Regarding the steering - the squeak may be coming directly from the steering linkage - such as from a worn and dry outer tie rod end. I highly suggest having the steering and suspension checked for loose, worn or chafed components.
