Question: What is the cost of purchase and installing a transmission?

I had a remodeled transmission installed. I lasted 8 months and my car stopped moving. I've taken it in and they want to install another transmission for over $2,000 with a 3 yr. warranty. This shop is in Menomonee Falls.

    was there a warranty with that trans??
    the 2k estimate is in line but very concerned about the other trans. Re modeled?? is that a used trans??

    i need clarification on the "remodeled" is that used? if not and its a reman trans, i would be back to the place that installed it, most reman'd trans have at least a 3 year warranty, with varying mileage levels. is the place that quoted you $2k (reasonable price) the ones that installed the "remodeled" trans ?

    I would check the warranty (if any) on the last transmission. I am uncertain of the "remodeled" term. If you mean remanufactured I would think it should be under some type of warranty.
