what is the average life of rear air shocks? i have 80000 miles and may need new on 2007 Buick Lucerne

my mechanic says the limk pins on stabilizer bar need replaced. but maybe shocks too.

I know of no average. They appear to last longer on most later model cars. Shocks are something that degrade gradualy over time. Other than inspecting them for leaks, and seeing evidence of binding and doing a bounce test, its not any specific way of knowing unless you feel the car does not handle the way it did when it was new.
