Did the engine run through a flood or run out of oil? There are 3 different engine sizes for your truck each engine having different removal procedures and cost associated with it, 2WD vs 4WD also affects labor cost. It's going to be cheapest to replace with a second hand engine but you end up with something that is a bit of an unknown and would have invested a lot of time after which you may find out that engine is not good. A re-manufactured engine may be the best way to go but quality of rebuild varies greatly, ask if they have ever fitted an engine from the company they would buy the engine from, ask what the warranty is and if it includes pats and labor.
