What is an ABS Brake System and how do I know if my car has one?

    Here is a very good explanation:

    To see if you have one: turn key to the ignition ON position (don't crank it) and see if a yellow ABS warning light comes on among the other warning lights.
    You can also see the ABS hydraulic/pump/control module assembly under the hood - however you need to know how it looks like.

    ABS stands for Antilock Brake System. There would be an icon on the dash, it's a warning light which should illuminate for a couple of seconds when you start the car. You could look in the owner's manual for useful information about the system. Your car probably has ABS, most modern cars do. Just look for the icon on the dash, also you could ask any machanic to look ynder the hood for the ABS module.
