My car gets hot when idling and I just put a new radiator in...there is a coolant leaking as well

    Could be a cooling fan issue. When the vehicle sits still, you have no air flow. The fan is necessary to get the air moving through the radiator.

    i was thinking that, but what would be the cause of the leaking?

    Ah, sorry; neglected that part of your question.

    With a coolant leak of unknown origin, a pressure test of your cooling system is necessary to determine the source. Too many possibilities to guess at.
