rumbling shuttering noise louder when travelling over patched up roads, pot holes, uneven road surfaces. what is causing this problem

    I just installed an after market trailer hitch on my GLK 350. I started getting a rumbling just as you describe above. Hitch is bolted to the same cross member that supports the rear suspension. Vibration from suspension is transmitted through the hitch up through the rear attachment points then into the rear floor. Very annoying. Do you have a hitch installed?
